A courtyard full of colour
Aangan means courtyard — the heart of an Indian home, where the women of Meera Shah’s family would gather to embroider trousseaus. She opened the first store in Surat in 2010 with fifty sarees sourced from weavers she had met while studying textiles.
Today we work directly with 140 weaver families in Kanchipuram, Patan, Varanasi and Pochampally. Our atelier of eighteen tailors can stitch a bridal blouse in five days and alter anything in forty-eight hours.
